My new toy :)

I have recently invested in a new toy; a Nintendo DS lite. I feel slightly extravagant as it has only come out in Japan so far, but I saw a deal I couldn't refuse on a certain online auction site :) The idea for buying it was as entertainment on long flights and journeys. As I will probably end up flying a lot on cheap Chinese airlines and they don't have much good entertainment, or should I say any good entertainment. I thought about buying a PSP, but it seems too bulky and the batteries don't last very long. Also, Nintendo have the most original and addictive games I have ever seen. Whereas the PSP just has a load of arcadey style games ported over from the PS2. I got a lot of games with the system, and there are some I just have to explain to you. There is one game where you are a young surgeon working your way up the ranks; you use the stylus on the touch screen to make the incisions, etc. It is just awesome, and very high pressured. There is a similar game where you are a budding lawyer who has to work his way through increasingly difficult cases. Then there is Nintendogs - you basically own a virtual dog, train it, feed it and teach it new tricks. You can use the microphone on the DS to teach your dog voice commands. You enter it into discus competitions and the like to earn money to buy food, etc. The list could go on and on; this machine is really pushing the boundries of game genres, and although not graphically as amazing as the PSP, it has much more long term value. I am already addicted :) I think it will be a very wise investment indeed!!

Will blogger.com work...... ??

I have heard that blogger.com is blocked in China; this would be very annoying as I would have to find another site to blog on and start all over! Well I will see when I get to China! Still very excited about the move and can't wait to get there. Will be hard work, but totally worth it. My plan is to go over a little early and have a holiday on Sanya, Hainan Island. Probably staying in nice resort style hotel right on the beach. I just think I will really need some R & R before I start this new job....
